Now, hide this file away. Digitize also all of your photo albums in good quality and feed your shredder with them. Do not scan everything, throw away useless or old things instead. | LESSON 2 | Now you have to archive your scanned stuff. Do not use any software for this matter. Software may not be updated and not be running on further operating systems in the future. You want to preserve some of them until you die. I promise, JPG will still be valid even after a 100 years. What you have to do is finding
your own system. Start with a folder named "A" for archive. Work your way down, create folders like "Paperwar", "Articles", "Knowledge" or whatsoever. Yes I know, this is not an easy task. Master it! | LESSON 3 | Encrypt the
your harddisk using a 256 bit securty key as minimum. Your password should be at least 20 keys including numbers. I recommend TrueCrypt.
| LESSON 4 | Stop printing on paper, print always PDF instead and save it. Send and receive fax only via email. Quit contracts to companies, who are replaceable and who refuse to send you bills in digital format or do not have a digital bill management system. Dress anybody working for you (lawyers, coworkers) to send
you faxes or emails, and tell them to call you, instead of sending stupid paper letters. Send all product catalogues back to the addresser. Use another stamp: "RETOUR". Buy online, wherever you can, pay via Credit Card only. Do not cooperate with anyone, who cannot get along with this and you are not dependent on.
| LESSON 5 | Make a three-level-backup every week. Always make sure, your backup is on three different places, ie. home and office.
