anyway (ie with the Samsung ML 1510, ML 1210). | Solution | here is how it works: the trick is to let windows vista think, that this is a local printer. that's why you have to install the printer locally, but as port you enter the
network address. - First, plugin and install your printer on your computer, ie on your server.
- Now you have to share this printer (on Vista click right mouse button and go to "Sharing" and click the checkbox "Share this printer").
- Logon at the client computer with a user account that has administrative rights and permissions
- Go to "Start / settings / Printers"
- Right click at "add printer" and select "Add a local printer"
- Select
the radio button "Create a new port:" and as a type of port select "Local port" and press "Next"
- In the area "Enter a port name:" exactly type the name of the network printer (e.g. \\iss\samsungm)
- Get through the rest of the add printer wizard
All done. Sometimes you will not be able to select more than one copy of your document. I guess one have to live with that, at least it works. | | |
