Home / Misc / Computer troubles / How to remove Googleupdater.exe

System

Windows Vista Business.

Problem

You want to remove googleupdater.exe without damaging the Google Toolbar, because there is no reason why this task should be a part of your system resources.

Solution

As hijackthis or regedit does not help you to do so, you have to remove it manually:
Go to your program files folder, then to "Google/Common/Google Updater". Rename or delete this folder. You won't even have an error when you boot. Google Toolbar will still work.

Thanks, that helped.
